About

Some people go to the ends of the Earth just to see what they can see.
Piglet

This is a project began by a girl named Carla, as a way to document her future travels. So this is me saying, "Hi there!" to you, fellow reader. I'm always hoping to get to travel a lot each year!

THE FAQs.

Who are you?
My name is Carla, an almost-architect, lover of natural light and all things pretty, from the Philippines but temporarily residing in Singapore. I live in and love southern Manila, where it's all just so chill and slow-paced when compared to the hasty north. I'm twenty-three, although I do believe I've never grown up past the age of fifteen. My favorite color is green, but oddly enough, this blog is painted blue for my love of the bright summer sky. I take on after my paternal grandfather in many ways and idiosyncrasies, among them my love for taking pictures, my handwriting and my generally being weird. The dream still is to fulfill this wanderlust, build houses and take pictures my whole life.

Why make this blog?
Writing and traveling have both been dear loves, and I needed a new place to grow, blog-wise. So from my days in livejournal, I decided to take action and move to an entirely new blog to recreate myself and start from scratch. Carla reads the world is turning two-and-a-half!

Why is it 'Carla reads the world'?
The name of this blog is inspired by the wonderful quote, "The world is a book. Those who do not travel read only a page." (Saint Augustine)

Who is Duccio?
Duccio is my camera. He (yes, I had decided a long time ago that my camera was a he) has been with me since 2006, my trusty classic DSLR, in all of my trips and events. :D He is a Canon 350D and I use an EF 50mm f/1.8 lens for all the pictures here listed as mine. Photos taken in film are by my boyfriend's lovely Recesky TLR, and soon my trusty new Superheadz Fat Lens camera, Pierre. :)
